Over the last couple of months, the Windsor Waste Management team have been planning and implementing a number of upgrades to the technology used within the business. These investments come with a number of benefits, both internally by providing greater efficiency and visibility in the management of our fleet, as well as externally through improved customer communications and service tracking.

The first of our upgrades was the implementation of the latest version of our fleet and operations management software. This modern, browser based application offers numerous benefits including a customer portal, fully integrated reporting, driver tablets and a multi-vehicle operations screen which gives our transport team complete visibility of the workload for the whole fleet, allowing us to respond to our customer’s needs with even greater efficiency. Additionally, it provides functionality to support the management of our compliance obligations such as defect reporting and rectification ensuring we continue to maintain the highest standards of safety.

One of the most significant service enhancements however, is the improved communication we are able to provide our customers through real time automated notifications and alerts. From confirmation of when the order is placed, through to final completion of the job, we are now able to keep our customers updated on the progress of their services via their preferred method of communication, as it happens.   It also allows us to provide waste transfer documentation even quicker than before.

In addition to the implementation of this key software upgrade, we have also recently transitioned to a new single platform voice solution.  This technology utilises soft phones which are run through an application on a mobile or a PC/laptop linked to a headset.  This new system delivers many benefits to the business and our customers, from cost efficiencies and greater mobility and flexibility for remote working, to a much better user experience for our customers through reduced background noise.
