With an immense amount of information in the public domain around COVID-19, we have been working hard in the background to ensure that we are in the best possible position to protect our staff and service our customers as safely and efficiently as possible.
We would now like to share some of the steps we have taken and continue to take in this fast moving situation to maintain continuity of service and would also like to reassure you, that at this time we remain fully operational with recycling and waste management collections taking place as usual, albeit with added protections in place.
Our customer service teams are contactable on the usual channels. Call 01708 55 99 66 and email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
General measures:
- We are following the strictest hygiene standards throughout our business and providing the relevant advice and guidance to all our staff in line with the World Health Organisation (WHO), UK Government, Public Health England, National Health Service (NHS) and Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
- Due to our existing IT infrastructure and past investment in Video Conferencing technology, we are in the position to be able to mobilise staff to work from home very quickly. As of Wednesday 18th March all staff whose job role allow them to work from home, have been mobilised to work from home and we have identified any high risk members of staff and implemented the relevant measures to protect these staff. The welfare of our staff is of paramount importance.
- We have placed a restriction on face to face meetings wherever possible to minimise the risk of transmission of the virus, however all our of our Account Managers are fully operational and are able to communicate with customers via, phone, email, VC facilities etc. They will be ensuring that they remain in close contact with our customers and that they are available to assist and support them during these challenging times.
- Our board and management team are meeting on a daily basis to ensure that we can respond to the situation as it develops and are closely monitoring the potential impact of the virus so our continuity plans can respond.
- We are working with our supply chain to ensure that the same standards of service and caution are being adopted.
Operational specific measures:
Driver’s Paperwork
- To limit the interactions we have with each other, our drivers will note your representative’s name on all of the necessary paperwork. In the event that you do not have a representative on site at the time of collection, we will document the site contacts details.
- The driver will not leave any of the paperwork on site but if necessary, a copy can be whatsapped/text to you for your records. Please ask the driver if this is required.
- All Waste Transfer Notes/completed Consignment Notes will accompany the electronic invoice as is our normal procedure.
Transfer Station Paperwork
- When arriving on site please DO NOT ENTER THE OFFICE, remain in your vehicle and await further instruction from a member of the WWM team.
- The consignment note should be handed over to the WWM Operative, however, once Section E has been completed we will keep hold of the consignment note and this will be sent, as is our usual practice, with the electronic invoice.
- If you prefer to receive a copy sooner, please write your email address or mobile phone number on the top of the document and we will arrange to have it whatsapped/text/emailed. Otherwise you will receive a copy of the completed consignment note when the invoice is issued electronically.
Any companies not currently set up for electronic invoicing, can do so by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
These instructions may seem extreme but it’s essential that we minimise contact as far as possible and all pull together to do our bit.
We will keep you as up to date as possible on any developments that we feel necessary via our website news page, social media and email communications and if you have any concerns whatsoever, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be more than happy to assist or answer any questions you may have.
In the meantime we would like to wish you and your families well. In the words of Churchill, ‘Healthy citizens are the greatest asset that any country can have’ and it seems that right now, that statement is truer than ever, so let’s all work together and support each other in beating this virus and tackling the challenges that undoubtedly lay ahead!
