Last Saturday night at 11.30pm, Ilona, Clare and Gemma, along with thousands of other men and women, set off from Clapham Common on their 26.2 mile ‘moonwalk’.

Dressed in themed rockabilly costumes and, of course, their customised bras, our three WMM ladies spent the night pounding the streets of London raising awareness and money to fight breast cancer.

Gemma, Ilona and Clare with their medals having walked the MoonwalkSpeaking about the event Ilona says: “The atmosphere was amazing and to be surrounded by so many other people all brought together in the fight against breast cancer was fantastic.  Our training paid off, although at mile 12 in the middle of the night in the wind and rain our legs were really feeling it.  However, the adrenalin and the thought of a nice hot chocolate and our beds kept us going to an emotional finish.“

Everyone at Windsor Waste Management is really proud of the ladies who are still fundraising in order to reach their target of £1,000. If you would like to recognise their achievement and make a donation, please visit their fundraising page.
