Windsor Waste Management’s Office Manager, Ilona Dixon, completed the London Marathon last weekend, raising money for Rainbow Trust’s Children’s Charity.

The 32nd London Marathon saw 37,000 professional and amateur athletes attempt the gruelling 26 mile course around the Capital on Sunday 21st April.  A warm day of sunshine added to the challenge after a winter training in the bitter cold but this didn’t stop Ilona who made it home in under five hours.

Ilona says: “Sunday was a mental day!  I hardly slept Saturday night so was yawning at the start line!  The support from the charity, my family and friends, and the general public around the course kept me going and I had an amazing day.”

Jeff Letch, General Manager, says: “We are very proud of Ilona.  Not only did she complete the 26 mile run but she raised over £1,000 for a very worthy cause.  We are all wondering what challenge she will take on next!”

You can still sponsor Ilona, and help her raise money for the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity who provides support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness, by visiting Ilona’s sponsorship page
