Fly tipping is the illegal deposit of controlled waste, including unwanted materials produced by households or businesses such as garden or construction waste, soil, furniture, liquids and tyres. Fly tipping is a criminal offence and anyone caught can be prosecuted under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 with a maximum penalty of £20,000 fine and/or six months imprisonment.

Since the implementation of new stringent guide lines and escalating costs to dispose of controlled waste, fly tipping has developed into a severe problem. Windsor Waste Management has handled increasing volumes of fly tipped material from waste land, retail parks, factory gates, car parks and abandoned vehicles loaded with hazardous waste and dumped by the roadside.

If you are affected by fly tippers, we can help you deal with the problem quickly and cost-effectively. Once we have identified and described the various materials, we notify the Environment Agency (if required) and request an emergency clearance certificate on your behalf. This allows us to allocate an authorised disposal site and remove the waste or obstruction as quickly as possible. Fly tipping can hit you at any time, so it pays to be prepared.
