Case Study 1

Waste Case Study
Problem

A construction company working on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link had accumulated, over a period of time, numerous unidentified chemicals. Our remit was to identify, segregate, manage and dispose of waste in accordance with all relevant legislation. This included sampling, analysis, risk assessments and disposal route auditing.

Waste Case Study
Operation

We identified numerous drums that were unsafe for transportation and incorrectly segregated. Our in house chemist proposed a suitable method of safe working and storage, before controlling the removal off site.

Waste Case Study
Conclusion

The site was left clean from any contamination and full legal documentation was provided to the client, including our proposals for an ongoing waste programme to keep the waste at a manageable level. This solution was adopted until the end of the construction project.
